What sort of a difference in the house edge is created when the dealer always pays the ante bet on a win, whether or not the dealer actually qualifies?

I’ve run into this twice now in the past couple weeks (once in Vegas, once in Missouri): the dealer doesn’t qualify, the ante bet gets paid. I try to take advantage of such situations.

Yeah, I’d rather play the live game – human dealers can make mistakes.

Knowledge of even 6 players cards doesn’t help all that much (on average, it only helps by about 0.5%). For the cases when collusion helps you make a decision counter to basic strategy, you save a lot (10-20%). But these opportunities don’t happen often enough to swing the advantage over to the player. Still, it’s worth looking around before 4x raising (or checking) a marginal hand. You might make a better decision with the collusion info.

Viejas is trying to become more consumer friendly. The dealers are the best. They have actually hired some pit bosses, who know how to treat a dealer mistake correctly, and to be courteous to all players. I could tell Maryann was from the Midwest by her natural charm. I loved your story about the rude pit bosses at Sycuan. I had played blackjack at that casino everyday for 2 months 4 hours a day,when I asked for a 10 comp I was told by a tall plain looking female with a hairdo from the 60′s that I did not qualify. I gave her my card and said this is worthless. I did not know about barring yourself. They still send me free play coupons, but I refuse to set foot in that casino again. I used to be a regular at their sports bar,where everyone was great.

I sent you the minRC’s for the 6-deck shoe game. I’ve tried counting the Dragon 7, but they play the game sooooo slow, it’s painful. That’s what I mean by “not worth the effort”. But, you may find the Player Dragon a little more fun, because it pays a lot more often than the Dragon 7. Good job on identifying the N-6 card shoe penetration. I guess a lot of people would find a 10% frequency +2.2% EV bet that’s totally Wongable (only bet +EV hands) and countable with pen and paper pretty good
